Mission Focus Legal Group believes in offering support to the heroes who’ve put their lives on the line for the sake of their country. That’s why our Groton personal injury lawyers are proud to make the firm’s new Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardship Scholarship available to children who’ve grown up in military families.
The team encourages interested applicants to consider how their experience in a military family has shaped their life and long-term goals, as well as what hardships applicants have overcome that may be unique to children of military families. Undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study can apply for the scholarship’s $2,500 award.
The scholarship selection committee with Mission Focus Legal Group will accept applications until March 1, 2026. Submit yours today!
Who is Eligible?
Mission Focus Legal Group invites graduating high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students to apply for the Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardships Scholarship. The scholarship is open to students in all areas of study, including those attending trade schools during the coming academic year.
Students must provide evidence that they are enrolled in or accepted at an accredited United States college, trade school, university, or graduate school to qualify for this scholarship. Students must also submit all of the necessary application materials to ensure that the scholarship selection committee considers them for the $2,500 award.
Mission Focus Legal Group asks that students agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions before submitting their application packets for consideration.
How Do I Apply?
So long as an applicant meets the aforementioned qualifying criteria, they can complete the scholarship application on this page and expect the scholarship selection committee to review their submission.
Mission Focus Legal Group requests that applicants complete the form and also create a video of no more than three minutes in length addressing the prompt below. Students should upload their video to YouTube as an unlisted video, then include a link to that video along with their scholarship form.
Scholarship Video Topic
Students applying for the Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardship Scholarship should create a video of no more than three minutes in length answering the following prompt:
Discuss how growing up in a military family shaped your life. What opportunities have you earned or what hardships have you overcome as a result of your or a loved one’s military career?
The scholarship selection committee recommends that students record their videos in well-lit areas and keep their recording device as still as possible. Students can rely on tripods, family members, and friends to keep their devices still, but they should be the only parties to contribute to their video.
Video Creation Tips and Tricks
Mission Focus Legal Group asks that students include the following information at the beginning of their video essay:
- Their full name
- The full name of the Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardships Scholarship
Students should also create credits for their video, highlighting any sources they used to add additional information to their script. If students want to add additional footage to their videos, the team expects students to use copyright-free content. Students should also give their video a catchy title.
While students can use editing tools like Adobe Creative Cloud to supplement their videos and clean up cuts, Mission Focus Legal Group will not require applicants to edit their videos. The quality of a student’s editing will not make them more or less likely to receive the Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardships Scholarship.
AI Statement
Students applying for the Mission Focus Legal Group should not use AI to generate their scripts, create false actors for their videos, modulate their voices, or create their videos in their entirety.
The inappropriate use of AI to create a video for the Military Family Background – Life Opportunities and Hardships Scholarship will see a student’s application removed from the applicant pool without further consideration.
